What is “The Challenge”?

Tasks and events at OBA CHALLENGE will draw on the skills you will practice this year in your Troop meetings.

The perfect solution is still waiting to be found, but as we all know, there are many ways to accomplish every task. Your perfect weekend will have a mixture of leadership, team-work, skills and knowledge, all leading to a competition against yourself, your team-mates and even the other teams!

If you've been to the OBA CHALLENGE before we know that you'll be back again. You know what a great weekend is all about!

For those Troops that haven't been to the CHALLENGE before please have a look around. Read what some troops say about “The Challenge”. Drop us a line at questions@obachallenge.com and we'll be happy to pass on all of the information that you need to join us here.

This may become one of your favourite camps of the year too!

Some 'need to know' items about “THE CHALLENGE”

Teams consist of 4 scouts compete in over 20 fun and exciting challenges that are based on scouting skills. The teams will camp and participate independent of their leaders. Patrol members get an excellent opportunity to develop good team work and leadership skills.

Each team must be accompanied by a registered scout leader. This leader will not eat or camp with the team. Both the leader and team must be independent and come completely self contained. There will be no indoor accommodations provided.

The teams will have 2 meals provided, the hot meal challenge on Saturday morning, and lunch on Sunday.

Each team member must be registered as a Scout (not a Venturer) for the 2009 - 2010 Scouting year. Team members must not have reached their 15th birthday before September 25th, 2009 (oldest participants born in 1994) and everyone should have at least 1 year of experience in a scout troop. Leaders must also be registered. Proof of registration will be required for entry into camp.

Download the complete package here to register your teams. This information will contain all the necessary forms, a list of the challenges, timetable, kit list etc. that the teams and leaders will require at the Challenge.

If you have any questions prior to registering please contact us at Questions@obachallenge.com

Did you know this back ground about the Bern Bellamy Award? Bern was one of the founding Scouters of the Oba Challenge Event. He was active with this event until he went home in 2006Θ
